Beauty recipe: The one-ingredient hair mask for super-shiny hair (it’s already in your kitchen) – From The Beauty Gypsy

I often feel like my hair is dull and not as shiny as it should be, so I am all about any DIY masks that promise glossy locks.  This one-ingredient hair mask is about as simple as you can get and it doubles as a face mask!

Beautyrecipe: The one-ingredient hair mask for super-shiny hair (it’salready in your kitchen) – From The Beauty Gypsy

Today, I was addressing a conference packed with Greek beauty-istas and the shine off their collective hairdos’ was blinding. And it turns out that those thick, lustrous, super-smooth and magically shiny tresses were the result of one single ingredient. Yogurt.
Yes,yogurt. Which is packed with proteins and calcium to help mask cuticle damage and split ends, while nourishing, strengthening and moisturising the hair. Then there are the natural acids, which help contract the cuticle layer to make strands appear smoother and shinier. And the hefty doses of zinc help stimulate blood circulation, which boosts hair growth. Plus, yogurt is packed with natural enzymes that combat dandruff and help soothe an itchy scalp.
So, yes yogurt. And it’s as simple as… putting yogurt in your hair. Simply take a handful of plain yogurt, massage it into your hair, let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then wash off with your regular shampoo. Result: head-turning shine and the banishment of dry, brittle strands. Added bonus: Goodbye to frizz and flyaways.
Yogurt is also great for your face!

WhatAre the Benefits of a Yogurt Mask?
(Livestrong.com) Yogurt contains lactic acid, an alpha hydroxy acid that helps to smooth rough, dry skin and prevent premature aging such as fine lines, wrinkles and age spots. Lactic acid helps to dissolve dead skin that accumulates in the pores, causing a dull and cakey appearance and aids in closing large pores, making skin look younger.

Make sure you are buying quality, organic yogurt

Conventional'yogurt' is junk food disguised as health food
(NaturalNews) When you study the ingredients in "conventional" yogurt, you'll find that it's made from milk produced by a cow that's been confined to one space its whole life, pumped with antibiotics and hormones, and fed GMO grain. Ingredients can also include artificial sweeteners, chemical defoamers, processed sugar, high-fructose corn syrup, synthetic preservatives and the controversial thickener carrageenan.
